About

Tools that run on your device

Most online file tools work the same way: you upload a document to a company's server, their machines process it, and you download the result. That design has real costs — your contracts, scans and photos sit on a stranger's disk, queues slow down at busy hours, and "free" tiers count your files so they can sell you a bigger allowance.

FreePdfTools takes the other road. Modern browsers are powerful enough to merge PDFs, build documents and compress images on their own, so that is exactly what happens here: the tool's code loads into your tab, your files are processed by your own device, and the result downloads straight back to you. There is no upload step because there is no server to upload to.

What that means in practice

Privacy you can test. Open any tool, turn on airplane mode, and use it. If it still works — and it will — nothing needed a server. No accounts and no counters. With no server bill per file, there is nothing to ration: no sign-ups, no daily limits, no watermarks. Speed. Skipping the upload and download of the original file makes most jobs finish faster, especially on slow connections.

Contact

Questions, corrections or tool requests are welcome at freepdftools@gmail.com. Because every tool runs locally, we cannot recover files for you — we never had them — but we are glad to help with anything about how the tools work.

Honest limits

Your device does the lifting, so very large files are bounded by its memory, and a few heavyweight conversions (such as perfect Word-to-PDF fidelity) genuinely need server software. Where a tool here cannot match a server product, its page says so plainly rather than overpromising.
